Plaistow – Denise E. Stewart, 94, passed away Friday February 9, 2024, at her home, following a period of failing health.

Born July 15, 1929, in Amesbury, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Phoebe (Gaudreau) Maurice.

Denise had worked as a Layout Operator for AT&T for many years. She also did many flyers, Christmas window painting and any other artful needs of the company

Denise was an extremely gifted painter, her love for, and talent continued well into her 80's. She created many charcoal portraits of her grandchildren, her last living brother and others in her life. She was gifted from an early age and her love for landscaping scenes, the beauty of the sky, the clouds and all She created carried her through many difficult times in her life.

Members of her family include her children Robert Stewart of Georgetown, MA; Richard Stewart and wife Bonnie of DE; and Carol Sheehan of Plaistow, NH; her eight grandchildren Chad, Kensie, Holly, Julie, Thomas, Benjamine, Charlotte, and Jamie, her two great grandchildren Autumn and Eli, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son James Stewart, four brothers Edmund "Eddie", Lional, Edmund "Jerry", and Aurele "Cauche" Maurice, and two sisters Lucy Wood and Dorothy Hennessy.

Family and friends may visit Saturday February 17, 2024, from 2 PM – 4 PM at the Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Plaistow, NH. A funeral service will follow at 4:15 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.
