Demetria Perez-Hernandez, 80, daughter of the late Nemesio and Modesta (Hernandez) Perez of Aguada, Puerto Rico, passed away after a long battle with cancer, at home surrounded by her family on November 8, 2017.  Born December 10, 1936, Demetria was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. Formerly of Aguada, Puerto Rico, she was a longtime resident of Haverhill Massachusetts.

Demetria loved her soap operas, and was a great cook. She enjoyed grocery shopping and had her own unique way of cooking delicious meals for her husband Ricardo, and their 7 sons. She played her daily lottery numbers, and is fondly remembered for it.

Predeceased by her loving husband Ricardo Hernandez, and two sons Ricardo, and Luis, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 5 sons Leonardo Hernandez of Haverhill, MA., Rafael Hernandez of Haverhill, MA., Jose Hernandez of Haverhill, MA., Robert Hernandez of Boston, MA., and Tony Hernandez of Haverhill, MA., Demetria was predeceased by her brother Gregario Perez of Ocala, FL., and survived by two sisters; Rosa Perez of Haverhill, MA., and Carmen Perez of Haverhill, MA., along with a lasting legacy of 17 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home , 47 Broadway Haverhill, MA with a private burial in her birthplace of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico at a later date.
