Newton, NH: Deborah A. (Torrey) Millett, 64, a resident of Newton for the past two years, died peacefully at home on Friday, October 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late David and Iola (Emery) Torrey and was raised and educated in Merrimac. She was a member of the Pentucket Regional High School Class of 1976 and also attended Northern Essex Community College.
A former longtime resident of Plaistow, Debbie was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant in local nursing home facilities, including Baker-Katz Nursing Home and Hannah Duston House and more recently for the past twenty-years at Penacook Place in Haverhill.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Debbie enjoyed knitting and camping and visiting the Green Mountains of Vermont and the New Hampshire and Maine Coasts. Her favorite trip was to Florida with all of family. She was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots and attended several Bruins games. Debbie was a devotee of musical artists of the 70's and 80's, enjoying several of their local concerts.
As a young woman, she was accomplished at roller-skating and met her late husband, Paul R. Millett at the former Skateland in Bradford. Together they enjoyed twenty-eight years of marriage until his death in 2012.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a son, Timothy D. Torrey, and his girlfriend Tracy Pirie of Smithfield, RI, four daughters, twins, Debbie A. Millett and her significant other Billy Hendricks of Haverhill, and Cherie E. Millett, and her boyfriend Mark Sawyer of East Hampstead, Gabriel P. Millett and her fiancé Steven Gilbert of Newton, and Paula J. Millett and her significant other Adam Davidowicz of Haverhill; two sisters, Brenda Brown and her husband Kenneth of Rochester, NH, and Jacqueline McElwain of West Newfield, ME; eight grandchildren, McKayla Lyons, Zoee Torrey, Nicolas Hendricks, Ariana Hendricks, Colby Torrey, Tatiana Hendricks, Lilah Davidowicz, and Caleb Davidowicz; a great grand-daughter, Autumn Quintilliani, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Debbie's Celebration of Life to be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Private family burial services will be held at a later date in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Dana Farber Breast Cancer Center, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA.
