David J.
Redlund
April 4, 1950 – July 2, 2021
Newton, NH: David J. Redlund, 71 a resident of Newton for the past twenty-seven years, died peacefully on Friday, July 2, 2021 at his home, following a long struggle with Lewy Body Dementia (LBD).
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts and raised in Holden, MA, he was the son of the late John O. and Ruth V. (Webber) Redlund. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and completed several college courses at educational institutions in the Worcester area.
Before moving to Newton, David was a longtime resident of Sterling, MA, where he raised horses, goats, ducks and geese. He enjoyed working in his yard and was a volunteer for the local 4-H club, managing horse shows. He will be remembered as the happiest guy in the world, driving his John Deere tractor around in the yard. He also enjoyed traveling, especially a memorable trip to Switzerland, and was an accomplished musician who entertained himself and others, singing and playing his guitar. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.
David was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health in Shrewsbury for many years and following his retirement assisted his wife in the operation of her business, Acorn Recording.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Kathleen (Mullaney) Redlund, with whom he celebrated fifty years of marriage on June 25th. He is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Keith LeBlanc, and their two sons, Jared and Brandon, all of Leominster, MA, a son Christopher Redlund of Virginia Beach, VA and his daughter Isabella of Melrose, MA. He was predeceased by his sister Terry Lynn Redlund.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home of Plaistow, NH.
