Obituary

North Andover: David W. Pajunen, 82, of North Andover and a former longtime resident of Groveland, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Mary Immaculate Healthcare Center in Lawrence.

Born in Fitchburg, son of the late E. William and Tyyne (Matson) Pajunen, he was raised in Fitchburg and the Whalom section of Lunenburg, graduating from Lunenburg High School with the Class of 1954. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electrician's Mate from 1954 until 1958.

Following his discharge from the service, Mr. Pajunen attended college and studied business courses. He was employed as an Associate Engineer at the General Electric Aircraft Plant in Lynn, working primarily in the Aircraft Instrumentation Division until his retirement.

A resident of Groveland from 1971 until his move to North Andover in 2018, he was a member of the Kingston Congregational Church and enjoyed woodworking, furniture building, gardening, swimming and trips to Bar Harbor, Maine.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Barbara L. (Hemlin) Pajunen, two sons and a daughter-in-law, William D. and Lisamarie Pajunen of Danville, NH and John A. Pajunen of Derry, NH two daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine A. and David King of Derry, and Linda E and William Morin of Danville, a brother Raymond Pajunen of Fitchburg, seven grandchildren, Benjamin Pajunen, David King, Andrea Lindsey, Tyler Morin, Emily Morin, Jacob Morin and Joshua Pajunen. He was predeceased by his grandson Samuel King in 1999.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Pajunen's Life Celebration to be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will take place on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the First Congregational Church of Kingston, NH, 6 Church St. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery in Derry will be private. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 300 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA.
