Port Richey, FL; David Alan Gauvin 72, former longtime resident of Sandown, NH passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Advent Health Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 15, 1949 in Haverhill, Massachusetts son to the late Richard and Dorothy (Herring) Gauvin. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War from 1969-1973 on the USS Midway. He was a recipient of the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars, and the Good Conduct Medal. Dave went on to work at Lucent for thirty years and the VA for five years before his retirement.
Dave was better known to those he loved as "Poops" or "Poopie", his truck was easily spotted with his infamous vanity plate. He was an avid hunter, fisherman & golfer. He looked forward to his trips to Vegas, Aruba, and winters in Florida where he and his beloved wife moved full time this past year. His favorite memories were those spent on Lou Lou's Lounge with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his "Heart Friends".
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Linda (Malpass)(Chase) Gauvin; two sons, Michael Gauvin of Nashua, NH and Mark Gauvin of Hudson, NH; two stepdaughters, Mashelle Pike and her husband, Steve of Fremont, NH and Melissa Chase of Salem, NH; nine grandchildren, Dalton Pike and fiancé, Maddisin Ballou, Lauren Pike, Jacob Pike, Hailey Morgan Gauvin, Ashley Durkin, Olivia Durkin, Makenzie Durkin, Aiden Gauvin and Brady Gauvin; three brothers, Richard "Dickie" Gauvin and his wife, Nancy of Zephyr Hills, FL, Daniel Gauvin and his wife, Paula of St. Petersburg, FL, and Dennis Gauvin and his wife, Carol of Bradford, MA; two sisters, Dianne May and her husband, Mark of Plaistow, NH and Dawn Gauvin of Bradford, MA; daughter-in-law, Karen Gauvin and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dave's Life Celebration to be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will follow at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home with military honors.
