Obituary

Sandown, NH:  David I. Drowne, 67, a lifelong resident of Sandown, died on January 7, 2017 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH.

Born in Derry, the son of the late Fred L. and Dorothy (Love) Drowne, he was raised and educated in Sandown and attended Sandown Central School, Pinkerton Academy and graduated from Timberlane Regional High School with the Class of 1967.  He was the former co-owner of Drowne Enterprises and also established and operated Woodbury Lane Sawmill in Sandown.  Most recently he was a partner in the operation of KDRM Land and Timber, LLC.

He was a former member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church and St. Mark's Lodge 44 F. & A.M. in Derry.  He was a Trustee for the Sandown cemeteries and a Trustee of trust funds.  Mr. Drowne was also a co-founder of the former Sandown Civic Association.

He was an avid outdoors man and a lifelong hunter, fisherman and boater and also enjoyed restoring classic vehicles.

The husband of Kathleen (Cashion) Drowne, he is also survived by a son, David F. Drowne of Sandown; a brother, Richard Drowne of Sandown; a granddaughter, Rosalee Bryson and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.  A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 12 Noon at the First Baptist Church, Plaistow.  A reception will immediately follow the service at the Carl Davis Post of the American Legion, Plaistow.  Burial will take place in the spring with a Masonic Service in Center Cemetery, Sandown, NH.
