Obituary

Haverhill: David A. DeRoche, 74, a native and life-long resident of Haverhill, died Monday, April 28, 2025, at Hannah Duston Healthcare Facility.

Son of the late Joseph A. and Mary E. (Nadeau) DeRoche, David graduated from Saint Joseph Grammar School and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1968. David served in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam Era.  He was employed for many years as the foreman at Haverhill Paperboard Co. and later at Little River Dyers/Cowan and Shain, and Voltek, and closed out his working career employed as a driver for C.A.P. Auto Parts of Haverhill.

A member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the Haverhill Ridge Runners Fish and Game Club, David enjoyed playing cards, especially 45's, but was feared by all when it came to playing him in cribbage. He also enjoyed playing pool and competing in trivia games, rides to the beach and trips to Topsail Island, NC.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his grandson Jonathan D. DeRoche, Jr, his brother Thomas F. DeRoche and his former wife Susan J. (Blackey) DeRoche. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Jennifer A. Licciardi of Hamilton, Ma and her boyfriend Matthew Rubenstein of Salem, NH, his son Jonathan D. DeRoche of Haverhill; four brothers, John J. "Jack" DeRoche and his wife Janice, Peter A. DeRoche, Gerard P. "Gerry" DeRoche, and Timothy M. DeRoche and his wife Jane, all of Haverhill; four sisters, Mary A. Emilio and her husband Alfred, of Haverhill, Margaret T. "Pegg" Guilbert and her husband Patrick, of Ipswich, Jane F. Daly of Kingfield, ME, and Andrea C. Clevesy and her husband John "Jack" of Snead's Ferry, NC; two grand-daughters, Emily A. Licciardi of Lawrence, and Sarah M. Licciardi of Atkinson, NH and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend David's calling hours to be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 11am-1pm at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. A graveside service will follow at 1:45 p.m. in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill, MA. Following the services, all are welcome to join the family for a gathering at 677 Hilldale Ave., Haverhill.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA. 02215. `
