Santa Barbara, CA:David Anthony Damiano, 46, longtime resident of Santa Barbara and formerly of Hampstead, NH, died October 15, 2012 in Santa Barbara, CA.



Born in Irvington, NJ, on January 7, 1966, he was raised in Hampstead, NH and attended local schools and Pinkerton Academy, Derry, NH.He graduated from the University of Santa Barbara.

At the time of his death, he was Manager of Transit Development and Community Relations for the Metropolitan Transit District (MTD).David truly was a devoted member of the community and known for his generosity of time and spirit.As an early supporter of electric transportation, he worked to bring new high-tech vehicles to the city.He served twice as President of the Santa Barbara Downtown Organization and Commission.



Beyond his achievements as a civil servant, David was a wonderful friend who loved traveling, wine tasting in the San Ynez Valley, tending his garden in his Mission Canyon neighborhood, and walking his affectionate Fizsla, "Chloe"', on the beach and open space parks in the community.



He is survived by his parents, Frank J. & Judith (Bessinger) Damiano of Hampstead, NH; a brother, Frank J. Damiano, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and his loving partner and friend of fifteen years, Ron Zecher.
