Port Orange, FL - David P. Carey, 54 of Port Orange, FL passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 after an 8 month battle with Ewings Sarcoma. He passed in the company of his loving family.
He was born in Haverhill MA, and grew up in Plaistow, NH.A longtime resident of Plaistow, NH he worked for Lucent Technologies for roughly 25 years prior to retiring.After some time off traveling with his family, David started a career with TSA in Manchester NH, before relocating to Port Orange, FL where he joined the Daytona Beach TSA team; a career change that he thoroughly enjoyed.
David cherished his trips to Alaska, driving his Corvette, and sharing Smarties and Pixie Stix with his grandchildren and co-workers. Above all else, David loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sandra J (Holt) Carey; children Jenni Maynard and her husband Michael of Port Orange, FL; Scott Roy and his wife Genevieve of Boston, Ma; Staci Loeffler and her husband Thomas of East Hampstead, NH; and Steven Roy of Manchester, NH; grandchildren Jacob, Justin, Alex, and Ashlee. In addition David is survived by his parents Paul and Marie Carey of Port Orange, FL; his brotherDonald Carey and his wife Michele of Plaistow, NH; and nephews Shawn Carey of Fremont, NH and Jason Carey of Newmarket, NH. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Rocky.
