Born in Boston, daughter of the late Marguerite (Maguire) Holbrook, she was raised and educated in East Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School with the Class of 1958. As a young woman, she was employed by New England Telephone.

Mrs. Marra and her late husband "Sonny" owned and operated a successful amusement company for many years. She was known as a warm and maternal woman to many of the people who worked for her and with her and was affectionately referred to as the "Mother of the Midway". In later years she worked as a secretary in the administrative offices of the Topsfield and Marshfield fairs warmly welcoming and assisting anyone who came in to her office.

She served as the Secretary of the New England Showman's Association for over twenty years as well as the Past-President of the Emerson Park Resident's Association of Hampstead.

Mrs. Marra enjoyed playing and mostly winning at card games, cribbage and bingo. She volunteered as a greeter for the Topsfield Fair for many years and could be counted on by her husband to have his fishing pole ready at a moment's notice.
