Constance H. Garrahan 71, passed away peacefully at the Twin Oaks Center on Sunday, January 9, 2022, after a lengthy illness.
Born October 3, 1950 in Boston, she is the daughter to the late William G. Hurley and Florence M. (Dudley) Sweeney. She was a graduate of Arlington High School and later continued her education at Northeastern University where she studied Art History. After college she worked as an Import Clerk for Pistorino Imports in Boston. In 1974 she married Daniel Garrahan of Waltham, MA. Together they made their home in Plaistow, NH for more than 40 years. Constance was a caring homemaker and later went on to substitute teach part time for the Pollard School. She also enthusiastically volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for many years in both Plaistow and Haverhill, MA.
Constance enjoyed knitting, crochet, and crafting. She was especially talented at beading and creating intricate Christmas ornaments. She was an avid animal lover who supported local animal rescue organizations.
She is survived by her son, Craig Garrahan of Plaistow and her daughter, Jessica Perelgut and her husband, Michael also of Plaistow; two Grandchildren, Julia and Devon Perelgut; two brothers, Jim Sweeney and his wife, Nancy of Plymouth, MA and Mark Sweeney of Waltham, MA; two sisters, Joanne Herbert and her husband, Rusty McLear of Meredith, NH and Sharon Coppola and her husband Bruno of Moultonborough, NH; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Daniel and by her sister Christine Gilley.
Private services will be held at a later date in the spring.
