Obituary

Haverhill: Constance A. "Connie" (Mitchell) Lavoie, 85 of Haverhill, died Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Penacook Place, with her loving family by her side. Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Rita (Taillon) Mitchell, and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1958.

As a young woman, Connie was employed in the local shoe industry, and later worked as a therapist assistant at the Kimi Nichols Center from 1974 until 1978. She was later employed for fifteen years as a cafeteria worker in the Haverhill School System until her retirement. Connie was a former long-time resident of Rosemont Street in Haverhill and was a member of Saint Rita's Church where she volunteered as a CCD teacher. She later lived in Merrimac from 1997 until 2012. She enjoyed bowling as a member of the league at Saint Joseph Bowling Lanes, and was an avid reader and an accomplished baker. In her retirement Connie and her husband, Ron took trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Disney World, Pennsylvania, Arizona and some of the Canadian provinces.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, and great-grandmother, Connie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of sixty-seven years, Ronald V. Lavoie, a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald M. and Cassandra Lavoie of Rochester, NH, two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle A. and Brian Cote of Haverhill, and Sherry R. and Paul Streeter of Danville, NH, six grandchildren, Timothy Streeter and wife Krista, Jillian Streeter and wife Jess, Ryan Lavoie, Matthew Cote, Justin Cote, and Sarah Cote, four great-grandchildren, Oliver, Finn, Liam and Cora, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Connie was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Lavoie in 1960, and by her brother P. Robert Mitchell, in 2024, and two sisters, Sharon Lay in 2017, and Judy Day in 2021.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation to be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow. Her funeral service will follow at 10:15 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Springtime burial will take place in Holy Angels Cemetery, East Road, Plaistow.
