Obituary

Newton, NH: Constance M.J. "Connie" (Losier) Hughes, 89, a resident of Newton since 1989 and a former longtime resident of Amesbury, MA, died Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill, after being stricken earlier in the day.

Born in Amesbury, daughter of the late Cedric and Emilienne (Albert) Losier, she graduated from Amesbury High School with the Class of 1950.

A housewife and homemaker, Mrs. Hughes was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and enjoyed creating a warm and loving home where her large extended family was always welcome. She also enjoyed spending time at her cabin on Stinson Lake in Rumney, NH, crocheting and working on diamond dotting. An accomplished cook she enjoyed dining out in her later years. She attended the Bethany Church in Raymond and the Vic Geary Center in Plaistow.

Predeceased in 2006 by her husband of seventeen years, Gordon R. Hughes, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Michelle Desmarais, of Newton, and Maria Bouchard and her husband, Mark of Haverhill, two sons, Robert Morehouse and his wife, Beatrice of Derry and Kevin Bootin and his wife, Parthena of Barboursville, WV, a son-in-law, Thomas Desmarais, ten grandchildren, Richard Morehouse, Jr, Robert Morehouse, Jr., Jacob Yuele and his wife, Angela, James Morehouse, Nicole Desmarais Matthew Desmarais, Benjamin Bouchard, Bart Bootin, Duston Bootin and Brianna Bootin, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Richard Morehouse and a grand-daughter, Kelly Dow.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will follow at 12 Noon in the funeral home and follow with burial in the Highland Cemetery, Newton.
