Obituary

Claudette S. (Boucher) Levesque, 85, a resident of Hampstead, NH died on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. She was born in Salem, MA, Jan. 13, 1941 to the late George H. and Grace S. (Brochu) Boucher. She was the sister of the late Priscilla T. (Boucher) Lowe.

Claudette graduated from St. Joseph High School, Salem, MA, and earned her B. A. degree in Music from Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA. She was a member of the Sisters of the Assumption, Petersham, MA, until 1980. She taught music classes and gave private piano lessons in Petersham and Millbury, MA. As a member of the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association (MMTA) she presented piano students in competition at New England Conservatory in Boston where they earned first place in their age category (grade 6 through high school). After leaving the religious community and moving to Atkinson, NH, she worked at Family Bank, Haverhill, MA, Merrimack College, Office of Institutional Advancement, North Andover, MA, Arlington Trust Company, and First Essex Bank, Lawrence, MA. She also worked at Wil-Mor Engineering, Seabrook, NH, and at Seabrook International, Seabrook, NH as a purchasing agent. She has lived in Hampstead, NH, since 1986.

Claudette accompanied the Bradford Chorale at the former Bradford College, Haverhill, MA for a few years. At a concert, the Chorale performed the entire Handel’s “Messiah” which she accompanied on harpsichord with orchestra. She played for weddings at various local churches. She once played a wedding from an old clunker piano because a squirrel got into a transformer; therefore, there was no electricity for lights or the organ. She was organist at the Hampstead Congregational Church for many years and was actively involved in music ministry at St. Anne’s Church, Hampstead, NH where she was a devout member. Her favorite logo: a music note (representing her love of music), a star (middle name, Stella, which she shared with her mother), and waves (born in Salem, MA and loved the ocean).

In 1997 Claudette married David J. Levesque who predeceased her in October 2010. She always said those were the best years of her life because she made a difference in someone’s life. She leaves a stepson, Daniel Levesque and his wife, Lisa, of Coventry, CT, two grandchildren, Sean and Kelsi; and stepson, Mark Levesque, of Brunswick, ME.

Claudette especially loved teaching and sharing her love of music to piano students. She enjoyed classical music, being involved in St. Anne’s music ministry, playing the piano, gardening, being with friends and family, traveling to New Hampshire mountains and the Maine coast with David.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Anne's Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11am. Interment will be held privately. Arrangements are under direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow, NH.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Liberty House (homeless & struggling vets, a Program of NH Catholic Charities), 221 Orange St., Manchester, NH 03104 OR New Hampshire SPCA, 104 Portsmouth Ave., Stratham, NH 03885.
