Haverhill: Claire A. (Bouchard) Vachon 99, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died May 23, 2020 at Hannah Duston Long Term Health Care Center in Haverhill.
The daughter of the late Charles and Lorenza (Proulx) Bouchard, she graduated from Saint Joseph Grammar School and Haverhill High School. She was employed at Western Electric Co. in North Andover for twenty years until her retirement.
A former resident of West Parish Court and 84 Broadway, Mrs. Vachon was a member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish and Ladies of Ste. Anne Society. An avid reader who also enjoyed gardening, Mrs. Vachon was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed upholstering and making slip covers.
Predeceased in 2014 by her husband of seventy two years, Bertrand J. Vachon, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Russell B. Vachon and his wife Linda of Niskayuna, NY, her three daughters, Maxine G. LeBlanc and her husband Paul of Fayetteville, AR, Adrienne A. Siney and her husband Philip of Haverhill and Ellen C. Flynn and her husband Chuck of Effingham, NH, eight grandchildren, Jen McIntyre and her husband Merit, Jerilyn Hatch and her husband Chris, Greg Vachon, Gretchen Gigante and her husband Peter, Ryan West, Devin West and his wife Taylor, Christine Green and her husband Jim and Michelle LeBlanc and her husband Matt Chapuran, fifteen great grandchildren, Henry McIntyre, Grace McIntyre, Amelia Vachon, Rocco Gigante, Lily Gigante, Conner West, Tucker West, Eva Chapuran, Marie Chapuran, Josie Chapuran, Andy Green, Camille Green, Maeve Cherry, Carli Hatch, and Ruby Hatch, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Bouchard, and sisters, Claudia Burke and Yvonne Bonin.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Greenleaf Unit at Hannah Duston LTHC, for the wonderful care and kindness shown to their mother during the last several years of her residency there.
Due to the national health emergency, calling hours and burial in Saint Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, of Plaistow will be private. A Mass in Celebration of her 100 th birthday will be held in April of 2021 at All Saints Church in Haverhill. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Saint Vincent de-Paul Society of All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Avenue Haverhill, MA 01832, or to the Food Pantry of Sacred Hearts Parish, South Main St., Bradford, MA 01835.
