Charles E. Pothier, 82, of Atkinson, NH and formerly of Methuen and Lawrence, MA passed away on August 23, 2018. Charlie was born on February 20, 1936 in Lawrence, MA to the late Charles and Evelyn Pothier.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Carolyn, daughter, Lynne Gosselin of Hudson, NH, son, David Pothier of Atkinson, NH, mother-in-law, Antoinette Bourget of Atkinson, NH, grandchildren, Ashley Gosselin of Methuen, MA, Jared Gosselin of Manchester, NH, Kelsey Gosselin and Cameron Gosselin, both of Hudson, NH. Charlie was predeceased by his son-in-law, Alan Gosselin. Charlie is also survived by his brother, Richard and wife, Ruth Pothier of E. Kingston, NH, nieces, Lauren (Pothier) Crowley of Sandown, NH, Carrie (Pothier) Desroche of Fremont, NH, nephew, Ryan Pothier of NY.
Charlie attended Central Catholic High School, graduating with the Class of 1954 and served in The National Guard for seven years. He was a supervisor at New England Electric System for thirty-nine years and was well respected by his coworkers. In his retirement, he enjoyed working at Atkinson Country Club, spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly called him Pips, his monthly breakfasts with his fellow retirees, golfing with his brother and friends, bowling, watching sports especially the Patriots and spending time with his cat, Bruin. Charlie was a devout Catholic, member of The Holy Cross Parish in Derry, NH.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Charlie's Life Celebration to be held on Monday, August 27, 2018, from 4-8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at 8:30 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church in Derry NH at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Atkinson Cemetery, Atkinson, NH.
