Obituary

Charles H. "Chuck" Morse III, 58, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2019 after suffering complications of Frontal Temporal Dementia. He was the son of the late Charles H. Morse, Jr. and Mariana (Westberg) Morse.

A life-long resident of Haverhill and Class of '79 Haverhill High graduate, Chuck retired from the Internal Revenue after 27 years of dedicated service. During his time there he made many friends that became more like family and he considered that to be one of the best assets of his job. Prior to signing on with the IRS, Chuck made many friends as the Manager of Music World/Record Town at the Methuen Mall where he proved to be a remarkable fountain of musical knowledge. For decades after he left the record store position he would run into former customers that still shook their heads in disbelief and would share their stories of Chuck helping them locate the exact piece they were looking for after they just hummed a few bars or knew only three repetitive words.  These meetings were a great source of pride for him.

For ten years, starting in 1999, Chuck led a class for new fathers through Women's Health Care called "Rookie Season" . He was delighted to be able to help a new father in any way possible and enjoyed sharing those Saturday mornings with many wonderful new dads.

Chuck was a to-the-bone, win or lose, New England Patriots fan and attended games regularly with a group of like-minded fellow tail-gaiters. His knowledge of football rivaled that of his musical trivia and was just as enjoyable to all that knew him.

He cherished memories of childhood summer vacations spent with his family and friends at Popham Beach, Maine where he enjoyed lobster dinners, swimming with the Three O'clock Club, playing "capture the flag" at the nearby forts as well as low tide walks to Fox Island and Wood Island.

Charles is survived by his wife, Susanne (Lee) and beloved daughter, Abigail in addition to his siblings, brother Anthony and his wife, Ann of Staunton, VA, sister Leigh Batruk and her husband, Sigmund of New York, NY, sister Kristin of San Francisco, CA and brother, Jeffrey and his partner, April Aucoin of Haverhill.

Relatives and friends are invited to Chuck's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday 29, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.
