Obituary

Plaistow, NH: Cecile T. (Cote) (Valliere) Balevre, 94, of Rye, NH, and a former longtime resident of Plaistow, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 27, 2021, surrounded by loving family and friends and the caring staff at Benchmark at Rye.

Cecile was born in the Westville section of Plaistow, daughter of the late Eugene and Ida (Joy) Cote. She attended Pollard School and graduated from Haverhill High School in 1946. She was a member of the former Holy Angels Parish of Plaistow.

She worked at Western Electric, primarily in the crystal room, until her retirement. Cecile took great pride in her work and was a hardworking and dedicated employee for twenty-seven years, working to make a better life for her family, which she did. She was a member of Local 1365 of the Communications Workers of America and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Cecile was devoted to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She brought her family together around the dinner table with delicious home-cooked meals and rousing post-dinner card games. Though she was an avid card player, her favorite game to play with her grandchildren was Parchesi. She also shared her love of bowling with her children and grandchildren. Cecile continued her active lifestyle in her retirement, enjoying knitting and crocheting, shuffleboard, bocce, golf, walking and water aerobics with her family and friends. She was always available to lend a helping hand to her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband Joseph Valliere, her second husband Frank Balevre and her long-time companion Fred "The Great Hass" Hassey and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two devoted daughters, Sally Pantaliere and her husband Richard, and Brenda Bouchard, a "step-daughter" Phyllis (Hassey) LaPointe and her husband Richard; two adoring grandchildren, Tyler Drinkwater and his wife Eliza Krpoyan, and Briana Bouchard; a great-granddaughter, Ysabelle Drinkwater; step-grandchildren, Lara DuBois and her husband Stephen, Jeremy Bouchard and Zachary Bouchard and his wife Katie Mae Simpson; step-great-grandchildren, Molly, Samantha, Sawyer, Sasha, Maple and Asher; sister-in-law, Barbara Cote, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Kenneth Bouchard and also by her sisters Blanche (Cote) Sanville and Florence (Cote) Surrette and her brothers Henry Cote and Richard Cote.

A special thank you to the best memory care community around, Benchmark at Rye. Their loving, caring, talented and knowledgeable staff enriched Cecile's life in ways we never could have anticipated or hoped for. We'd also like to thank Beacon Hospice for their end-of-life care and support.
