Plaistow, NH: Catherine A. (Callahan) Miller, age 86, a resident of Plaistow since 1976, died June 29, 2022 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.
Born in Woburn, Massachusetts, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Trepaney) Callahan, she was raised and educated in Winchester, MA. She graduated Winchester High School in 1954, where she was the Captain of the Girl's Field Hockey Team. She also played Semi-Pro Softball as a young woman
Mrs. Miller was a financial advisor employed at Winchester Trust Company and later at Derry Bank and Trust Company which became BayBank. Following her retirement, she returned to work in customer service at the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA.
A former resident of West Peabody, MA before moving to Plaistow forty-six years ago, she was a former member of Holy Angels Parish of Plaistow. She was an avid sports fan and was especially devoted to the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. She enjoyed boating, swimming and jet skiing on Lake Winnipesaukee as a member of the Gilford Yacht Club and was devoted to her pet dogs.
Mrs. Miller will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of sixty-two years, Peter D. Miller, a daughter and son-in-law, Annemarie M. and Darrin Belcher, of Exeter, a brother Michael Callahan and his wife Gail of Weston, Florida, two grandchildren Dannielle Gauthier and Ashleigh Belcher, and several nieces and nephews, especially Sandra Swart, who was raised by Mr. & Mrs. Miller, and also several grand nieces and grand nephews, three great grand nieces and one great grand nephew. She was predeceased by a sister and five brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Catherine's Life Celebration to be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will follow in the funeral home at 2 p.m. with burial in Plaistow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 33, Rockville, MD, 20852.
