IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol H.
Cartier
August 1, 1952 – December 14, 2025
Kingston, NH: On the evening of December 14, 2025, Carol Harriett (Buckley) Cartier of Kingston, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at the age of 73, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 1, 1952, in Waltham, Massachusetts, Carol was the youngest of eight children born to Dick and Harriet Buckley. She spent many years working at the Western Electric facility in North Andover, Massachusetts, where she was known for her kindness, patience, and warm heart.
Carol found joy in life's simple pleasures: coffee ice cream, trips to Cape Cod, and quiet evenings at home listening to her husband play guitar and sing to her. Above all, her greatest joy was her family. She raised her five children in the Greater Merrimack Valley of Massachusetts, teaching them—and all who knew her—the meaning of unconditional love.
She is survived by her devoted husband of forty years, Jack Cartier of Kingston, NH; her children, Charles Merida of El Paso, TX, Mark Merida and his wife Nina of Nottingham, NH, Anthony Merida and his wife Nicole of Haverhill, MA, John Cartier of Plaistow, NH, and Danielle Cartier of Raymond, NH; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ronald Buckley and Ross Buckley of California, and Judy Buckley of Connecticut; and many beloved cousins.
Carol loved in the gentlest and truest way—softly, fully, and without ever holding anything back. Her heart seemed to instinctively know when someone needed comfort, understanding, or simply to be seen, and she gave herself to that moment completely. Her love was warm and enveloping, rich with empathy and kindness, offered freely and endlessly, never guarded, never withheld. And even when someone was not yet ready to receive that love, it remained—patient, steady, and waiting—until they were. To be loved by Carol was to feel safe, understood, and cherished beyond words, and that love will remain—steady, living, and eternal—in the hearts of all who were blessed to receive it. To know her was to know love.
A private service for immediate family will be held at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home in Plaistow, New Hampshire. A celebration of her life will be held on August 1, 2026.
