Obituary

Today our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of Carmen Marie Thomas (Jasmine), September 8, 2024.

She was born on January 20,1961, in Gloucester Massachusetts. Carmen was not just my sister, but a precious part of my heart and soul. Carmen lived her life with passion and touched others throughout her journey in life with kindness and compassion.

Carmen had many gifts and talents but one in particular  was dancing.  She was an accomplished belly and hula dancer.  Carmen spent many years working as an occupational therapist. She touched the lives of many children with her innate ability to demonstrate empathy, acceptance, warmth and humor.

Carmen had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor.  Carmen also loved long walks where she would absorb and connect with the nature she observed along the way. Carmen had an eclectic interest in music and she, in particular, loved oldies from the 1950s and 1960s.

Carmen is predeceased by the love of her life Richard, A Gardella Jr, her father Jeffery G Thomas, and brother Jeffery G Thomas Jr. She is survived by her mother Janet J Thomas, Sister, Eileen V Toole, Brother-in-law Paul E Toole, brother Brock T Thomas, sister-in-law Margaret Thomas, nephew Dylan Harmon, nephew Zacharie Harmon, niece, Alexandria Toole, niece Ella Harmon, niece Aria Harmon. She is also survived by her best friend Beth Hancock Stone, and many, many more loving friends.
