Danville, NH: Carleen A. (Rhoadhouse) Knowlton, 80, of Danville and formerly of Hampstead, died on July 7, 2014 at her home.
Born in North Tonawanda, NY, and raised and educated in Lynnfield and Wakefield, MA, daughter of the late Carl Rhoadhouse and Avis (Percival) (Rhoadhouse) Curry, she graduated from Wakefield High School with the class of 1952. Following graduation she attended Comptometer School in Boston.
Mrs. Knowlton was employed as a comptometer operator for Sylvania Company in Lynn, MA and as an executive secretary for Contech for ten years.
An avid reader and bowler, Mrs. Knowlton was a member of a local bowling league in Salem, NH and was an accomplished cook. In her later years, she developed an interest in antique dolls and had worked in many antique shops in the Plaistow area. She also enjoyed working with her friends at the Emerson Greenhouse in Hampstead.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Walter A. Knowlton, a daughter and son-in-law, Kim D. and Michael LeClair of Hampstead, and a son Jeffrey A. Knowlton of Windham.
A private funeral service will be held at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH.
