Haverhill, MA: Bruno F. Procopio, 80, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died peacefully Friday, January 20, 2012, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, with his loving family by his side.
Son of the late John and Angela (Coppola) Procopio, he attended Tilton School and was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1948. Employed in the local shoe industry at the former Colonial Shoe Co of Haverhill and at Chelsea Industries as a foreman, he later worked a bow designer at Davco Shoe Co.
A member of the former Saint Rita's Parish of Haverhill, and All Saints Parish, Mr. Procopio enjoyed working in his yard and exploring local yard sales.
The devoted husband of fifty-two years to Sylvia (Thompson) Procopio, he was also the loving father of Barry F. Procopio of Haverhill, and Brian J. Procopio and his wife Allison of Sarasota, Florida. He is also survived by his brother Anthony Procopio of Haverhill, and his cherished and adoring grand-daughters, Capri, Scotia and Isla Procopio and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Constance Sannella and brother John Procopio.
Relatives and friends may call TODAY, SUNDAY, January 22, 2012 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral will be held on Monday at 10a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery.
