Kingston, NH: Bruce E. Garrett, 70 a resident of Kingston since 2012, died Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton, following a long illness.
Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, Massachusetts, son of the late Norton C. Garrett and the late Elizabeth "Betty" (Short) Garrett, he attended Haverhill schools and the former Haverhill Trade School.
He was employed as a young man as the manager of the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in Haverhill and was later employed for over twenty years as a materials handler at Western Electric, A. T. & T. Technologies and Lucent Technologies before his retirement. He later was employed by Brian Abbott Construction Co. and most recently as a grounds keeper at Wakeda Camp Ground.
A resident of Plaistow for twenty years before moving to Kingston, he was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Local 1365 of the Communication Workers of America, Saint Anne's Parish of Hampstead and All Saints Parish of Haverhill. He enjoyed carpentry, furniture building, fishing and watching sports on television. He was also a very supportive grandfather to his grand-daughter Mia in her pursuit of excellence in her school and activities.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-two years, Diane C. (Moulton) Garrett, a son Joshua F. Garrett of Hampton, NH, stepson Christopher Parkman of New York City, step daughters, Kelly Migas and Bonnie Parkman, both of Austin, Texas, four brothers, Wayne Garrett and his wife Barbara of Mansfield, CT, Keith Garrett and his significant other Lisa of Plaistow, Ralph Garrett of Haverhill and Scott Garrett and his wife Amy of Haverhill, a sister Jeanne Murphy and her husband Michael of Hampstead, four grandchildren, Mia, Ignacio, Jordan and Sofia, an aunt Patricia (Short) Tsatsa, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Norton Garrett, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to Bruce's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill MA.
