Brett Mark
Eggleston
Sep 3, 1985 — Jul 21, 2026
Danville, Nh
Brett Mark Eggleston ("Eggie") passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, after a short but fearless battle with cancer.
Of all the things Brett accomplished in his life, nothing ever meant more to him than hearing two little voices call him "Dad." That wasn't just his favorite title, it was the role he was born to fill.
Everything else came second. Every decision he made, every hour he worked, and every plan he dreamed up began and ended with his girls. Fatherhood wasn't just something he did; it was who he was.
Whether he was throwing balls until the sun went down, traveling from one softball tournament to the next, carving fresh snow on a mountain, wandering the woods together, or simply sharing the quiet moments that become lifelong memories, Brett treasured every second he had with them. He never loved from the sidelines. He was fully present, encouraging, coaching, protecting, laughing, and believing in them with everything he had.
A lifelong resident of Danville, Brett left behind enough stories to keep people laughing for years to come. Some would joke that he kept the town on its toes growing up, and anyone who knew him has a favorite "remember when Brett..." story. He lived with a mischievous spirit, a huge heart, and an unwavering willingness to help anyone who needed him.
Brett made his living in construction, but he built his life around the people he loved. He found joy in riding his motorcycle, snowboarding, being outdoors, and cooking meals that brought everyone together. No one ever left his table hungry or his home feeling unwelcome.
He often joked that genetics had a funny way of giving him away. He loved discovering the little ways his daughters reflected him. Claira shared his adventurous spirit, curiosity, and love of food, while Lylah carried his kind heart, quiet strength, and the unmistakable stance that always reminded him she was his girl. Those similarities always made him smile, but what filled him with the greatest pride was watching each of them become wonderfully and unapologetically themselves.
Brett measured success not by what he accomplished, but by the people he loved, the memories he made, and the time he spent with those who mattered most.
His greatest legacy isn't something he built with his hands. It's found in the lives he touched, the friendships he cherished, the family he loved so fiercely, and the countless memories he created with those lucky enough to know him. Most of all, it's found in the unconditional love he gave so freely to Lylah and Claira, a love that will forever be part of who they are.
If Brett taught us anything, it's that life isn't measured by the years we have, but by the moments we create with the people we love. So take the ride. Cook the big meal. Stay a little longer. Cheer from the sidelines. Tell the story one more time. Lend a hand without being asked. Laugh often. Love deeply. And never miss the chance to show the people in your life what they mean to you.
The world is better because Brett was in it, and everyone who knew and loved him carries a piece of him in their own way.
Brett is survived by his two beloved daughters, Lylah and Claira, who were the center of his world, and by his faithful companion, Jeb. He is also survived by the mother of his daughters, Jessica Saunders; his mother, SuAn, and Roy Belanger; his father, Mark, and Mari Eggleston; his sister, Tara, and John Joe Johnston; and his loved nephews, Brock, Bryce, Ebhin, Egan, and Eoin.
Over the years, the lines between family and friends became beautifully blurred. Brett leaves behind those who became intertwined in his life and his heart: Andy and Alex Dube, Steven and Kayla Saunders, Linda and Steven Saunders, Nick Friberg, and Joe and Stephanie Belanger. He is also lovingly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers, neighbors, and countless friends whose lives were brighter because they knew him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Brett's memory with a donation to the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care, Lebanon, NH. Their kindness, compassion, and unwavering support brought comfort not only to Brett, but to everyone who loved him
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Brett's life during calling hours on Tuesday, July 28th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home in Plaistow, New Hampshire.
