Bertie S. (Bradburn) Hastings, age 77, resident of Haverhill for over fifty-nine years, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the Academy Manor, Andover, MA following a long illness.
Daughter of Minnick and Catherine (Walker) Bradburn, she was born in Ridge, Maryland where she attended school and Great Mills High School.She worked for local shoe companies and after her retirement, she worked for a day care center and also provided daycare from her home.
Mrs. Hastings was a member of the West Congregational Church in Haverhill.She was an avid bingo player who also enjoyed playing cards.
The widow of the late Francis Hastings who died in 2003, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Francis L. "Hank" and Linda Hastings, Jr. of Haverhill; five daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Dupont of Haverhill, Linda LaFreniere of Manchester, NH, Bernice "Bunny" and Thomas Rowell of Manchester, NH, Wendy and Clark Delaney of Salem, NH and Bonnie and Michael Rodgers of Salem, NH; two brothers, Robert Bradburn of Ridge, MD and James Bradburn of Leonardtown, MD; three sisters, Catherine Howe of Haverhill, MA, Lucille Thompson of Somerville, MA and Betty Bradburn of New York; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons-in-law, Ronald Dupont and Richard LaFreniere and a brother, Raymond Bradburn.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, September 7, 2012, from 4:30 to 8:30 PM at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA.Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 10:00 AM at the West Congregational Church, 767 Broadway, Haverhill, MA.Burial will follow in Walnut Cemetery, Haverhill, MA.
