Alton, NH: Barbara G. (Yemma) Mourikas, 57, of Alton, NH, and formerly of Haverhill, MA, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at her sister's home in Plaistow surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Haverhill, MA, daughter of the late Richard and Sara (Brown) Yemma, she attended Haverhill Public Schools and Haverhill High School. She first worked as a Secretary and Nurses Aide at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, Haverhill, MA and later she was employed by the Internal Revenue Service as a Secretary and a Tax Examiner in the Methuen, MA and Laconia, NH centers and presently in the Portsmouth, NH service center.

A member of the Mt. Washington Observatory Preservation Society, she enjoyed hiking, horseback riding, camping, snowmobiling, swimming and boating as well as Cruise Nights and antiquing. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she was also very fond of her dog, Lily and cat, Patches.

She is survived by her husband of forty-one years, John W. Mourikas; two sons, John W. Mourikas, Jr. and his wife, Natalie of Hampstead and Jason M. Mourikas, who is currently serving in the United States Army and his wife, Sonia of Newport News, VA; a brother, Richard Yemma and his wife, Lori of Hampton, NH; a sister, Karen Bartlett and her husband, Greg of Plaistow, NH; four grandchildren, John T. Mourikas, Nickolas C. Mourikas, Vanessa Mourikas and Jason W. Mourikas, and several nieces and nephews, especially her nephew, Matt Bartlett of Beverly, MA.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 14, 2013, from 4 to 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH for a time of visitation and sharing of memories with the family. Donations may be made to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Route 28, Methuen, MA 01844 or to the American Cancer Society.
