Hampstead, NH: Barbara G. (Giallongo) Murphy, 82, of Hampstead, died January 22, 2026, at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Born in Methuen, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Serafino and Mary (Saitkowski) Giallongo. She attended local schools and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lawrence with the Class of 1960. Barbara was employed as an analyst at the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA, retiring after twenty-five years of service.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Barbara enjoyed knitting and crocheting, playing 45's and Dominos. She and her husband Mike have many memories of the times they spent during summer months at Lake Ossipee for forty-two years, as well as spending their winters in Naples, FL and trips to New Smyrna Beach to visit with family.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her loving husband of fifty-two years, Michael F. Murphy, her son Scott R. Giallongo of Porter, ME, her grandchildren, Nicole Keirsted and her husband, Mitchell of Titusville, FL, Megan Giallongo, Dane Giallongo and his wife Emily and Dylan Giallongo, all of Porter, ME, three great grandchildren, Cameron, Paisley and Ella, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marcelle Giallongo and her sister, Kathleen Giallongo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours to be held on Thursday, January 29, from 4 - 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will follow at 6:15 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. For those wishing to make memorial donations, the family would like you to consider: St. Jude Childrens' Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN.
