Arthur R. Cabral, 97, of Kingston, New Hampshire, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at his most recent home, All American Assisted Living in Kingston, New Hampshire, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Arthur was the son of the late Arthur A. and Mary (Sousa) Cabral. He grew up in Somerville with his only sibling, his sister Evelyn. Before completing high school, he answered the call to serve, enlisting in the U.S. Navy and proudly serving his country in the Pacific during World War II.
Arthur, fondly known as "Chief," was the proud owner of Locust St. Garage in Medford, Massachusetts, a well-respected auto body repair shop that he built through hard work, dedication, and genuine care for his customers. He took great pride in his business and was always willing to lend a helping hand, earning the trust, friendship, and admiration of so many throughout the community. Known for his kindness, generosity, and larger-than-life personality, Arthur was loved by family, friends, customers, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Nothing brought Arthur more happiness than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored their Grampy. He loved sharing meals with them and teaching them that a good meal was a nice piece of fish followed by coffee ice cream—a family tradition that will live on in his memory for years to come.
Arthur will be remembered for the love he shared, the friendships he treasured, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but forever remain in the hearts of his adoring children: Linda Kearney and her husband, John, of Kingston, New Hampshire; Kathleen Tarani and her husband, Mark, of Billerica, Massachusetts; Kenneth Cabral and his wife, Lisa, of Kingston, New Hampshire; and Robert Cabral of Kingston, New Hampshire. He is also survived by his companion of twenty years, Debbie Thomas of Cambridge, Massachusetts; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and nephews David Doucette and his wife, Celine, of Medford, Massachusetts, and Steven Doucette of Burlington, Massachusetts.
Arthur was predeceased by his cherished wife of forty years, Geraldine (Butler) Cabral; his son, Richard Cabral; his daughter, Deborah Rheault; his sister, Evelyn Doucette; her husband, Les Doucette; and his niece, Darlene Doucette.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Graveside Service with urn, and U.S. Navy Honors, for Arthur on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM, in Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Road, Medford, Massachusetts 02155.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charitable organization of your choosing in honor of Arthur’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
