September 27, 1927 – November 14, 2017
Armen Houssian, 90, son of the late Mihram and Miriam Houssian, diasporas Armenians of the Kizlyar region, on the West bank of the Caspian Sea, respectively, passed away at home surrounded by his family on November 14, 2017. Born September 27, 1927 Armen and his family emigrated to New York in 1958, and was a longtime resident of Haverhill, Massachusetts.
Armen attended New York University, and specialized in drafting and design. Employed for many years at the firms of Brown Engineering, Frederick R. Harris Professional Engineers, Charles H. Sells Surveyors, and Peerless Nuclear. For 35 years, always a versatile professional, Armen worked alongside the world's most prominent engineers producing Civil, Structural, and Mechanical drawings for the New York area's mega-projects. Armen was a hardworking man who loved his family, and enjoyed such hobbies as model shipbuilding, and oil painting. He loved to ride bicycles, exercise, and enjoyed travelling the world with his loving wife Alice.
Armen will be sadly missed, and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 64 years, Alice (Touloughian) Houssian. He is survived by his three sons, Fred Paris and his wife Lindsay of Haverhill, MA., Robert Houssian of Cincinnati, OH., and Henry Housstian, and wife Christine of Kent Island, MD. Armen leaves 1 brother, Jack Houssian of Syosset, NY., and was predeceased by a second brother, Vazgen Houssian of Union City, NJ., He is survived by his sister Hranoosh Houssian of New Canaan, CT. Armen leaves a long legacy of 6 loving grandchildren; Victoria, Kayla, Laura, Ellie, William, and James. He was predeceased by his grandson, Brandt.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home , 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH., with a private service for family and friends at the North Haverhill Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 410 Water Street, Haverhill, MA., 01830, on November 25th, 2017, between 1:00 and 4:00 pm.
