Hampstead: Arlene L. (Belpedio) Solomon, 81, a resident of Hampstead for the last seventeen years and a former resident of Andover, MA, died peacefully at her home on December 26, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Bridgeport Connecticut, daughter of the late Vincent and Ann (Krapinski) Belpedio she was raised and educated in both Fairfield, CT, and later, Andover, MA, graduating from Andover High School.
Arlene first worked as a waitress at Fieldstone's in Andover and then for many years at Kitty's Restaurant in North Reading. She also was employed for twenty years as a corporate travel agent for Textron Corporation of Wilmington, MA.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, family meant everything to Arlene. In addition to being an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan, she was an accomplished cook and a huge fan of Engelbert Humperdinck. She also enjoyed world travel and trips to casinos, often extraordinarily lucky at the blackjack table.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her one true love and husband of sixty-one years, Martin D. Solomon, a daughter Carole Hanedanian of Bradford, MA, two sons, Martin D. Solomon, Jr. of Hampton, NH and Curt V. Solomon and his wife Julie of Midlothian, VA; two brothers, Vincent Belpedio of Lawrence, MA and Garry Belpedio of Uxbridge, MA; seven grandchildren, Daniel Solomon, Alyssa Solomon, Brianne Hanedanian, Mark Hanedanian, Rachel Hanedanian, Matthew Solomon and Evan Solomon; two great-grandchildren, Gina Solomon and Joanna Solomon, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Carole Ann Belpedio.
Relatives and friends are invited to Arlene's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice (homehealthfoundation.org).
