Obituary

Anita (Demers) Whiteway, 79, of Enfield, CT, passed away on Saturday September 11, 2021, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH.

Born and raised in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Baril) Demers and was a graduate of Hartford High School, Class of 1960. Anita worked at LIMRA as a research librarian for most of her adult life and finished her career at the Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.

Anita's loving family was the center of her world, especially her grandchildren. The pride and joy she had for her flower gardens blossomed in their well-known beauty.

Anita will be sadly missed but forever in the heart of her daughter, Christine DiMattia and her husband, Bobby of Atkinson, sister, Diane Cote of Feeding Hills, MA, grandchildren, Andrew Laskowski of Manchester, NH and Cassandra Laskowski of Arlington, MA, nephews, Jean Paul Cote of Charlotte, NC and Steven Cote and his wife, Teresa of Springfield, MA, great nieces, Emily, and Marissa Cote. Anita was predeceased by her husband, Donald Whiteway.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday October 1, 2021, from 9 am to 11 am, at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12 pm on Friday October 1, in St. Anne Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH.
