Obituary

Alton R. Hall, 89 surrounded by love, passed peacefully on July 16, 2025 at Holy Family Hospital just a few days after his 89th birthday.  Born July 6, 1936, Alton was the son of the late Robert C. Hall and Charlotte (Irving) Hall.  Al, as he was lovingly known as, grew up in Malden MA where he met his bride to be, Irene Hibbard who would later become his wife of nearly 60 years before her passing.  Before getting married, Al joined the US Marine Corps in 1956, attaining the rank of Sargeant before being Honorably discharged in 1959.  With the skills he learned in the service, he went on to work for Transitron Electronics Corporation in Wakefield MA for the next 10 years.  In 1969 he was hired by the Gillette Company in Boston, to work in a new plant being built in Andover MA, becoming manager of employee relations, a job he was very proud of.  Upon the time of his new job, he also moved his family to Plaistow NH where he remained for the next 55 years.  In 1992, Al took an early retirement to enjoy life. Al was an avid golfer in his early years of retirement and was always a fan of the game, never missing a tournament on the television.  When he wasn't golfing, he was working part time at his son-in-laws company as a delivery driver at Magnum Machine, Inc. in Raymond NH, as well as making frequent trips to Foxwoods Casino in CT.  Later in life, his real joy was in the company of his family.  Proudly watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren become fine family members, growing and suceeding in all they accomplished.  Al was a proud Marine, but his legacy is his family.
Al was predeceased by his wife, Irene (Hibbard) Hall, sister Dorothy(Hall) Solari and his brother Robert "Bud" Hall.  Al is survived by his three children, son Gary A. Hall and his wife Laurie of East Hampton CT, his son Douglas R. Hall and his wife Julie of Plaistow NH and daughter Christina (Hall) Travers and her husband Marvin of Chester NH.  He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Jennifer(Hall) Dupre and husband Dave, Gary Hall, Jacob Travers, Steven Hall and his wife Erin, Jordan Travers and Kai Hall.  Two great grandchildren, Brylee Dupre and Brayden Dupre.  Brother Donald Hall, sister Nancy (Hall) Bolduc and husband Ralph and sister-in-law Gloria (Hibbard) Lawler and husband Norman, as well as many nieces and nephews.
