"Al" Wojtas
April 21, 1953 – September 30, 2017
East Hampstead, NH: Alphonse J. "Al" Wojtas, 64, of East Hampstead, NH, died on September 30, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Methuen, MA, the son of Alfonse and Jeanne (Roberts) Wojtas, he attended Central Catholic High School, graduating with the Class of 1971. He later attended Lowell University, (now University of Massachusetts Lowell), graduating in 1976 with a Bachelor's Degree in English, and later received his Master's Degree in Technical and Professional Writing from Northeastern University in 1991. Mr. Wojtas worked as a Technical Writer for IBM and had previously been employed by Digital Equipment Corporation where he obtained several patents .
An avid Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan, Al also enjoyed reading, traveling, working out and playing basketball on the Hampstead Men's League. He enjoyed classical movies and old Western TV shows and their theme music.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela L. (Harding) Wojtas; two sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen W. and Shannon Wojtas of Chicago, IL and Gregory T. Wojtas of Hooksett, NH; his parents, Alfonse and Jeanne (Roberts) Wojtas of Methuen, MA; three brothers, Michael Wojtas of Salem, NH, Francis Wojtas and Peter Wojtas of Florida; three sisters, Christine Jacinto of Florida, Catherine Sanantonio of Derry , NH and Caroline Legros of Methuen, MA; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was pre-deceased by the mother of his children, Diane (Graham) Wojtas.
Relatives and friends may attend Al's Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017, at 10 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead, NH. Donations may be made to the Class of 1971 Memorial Scholarship at Central Catholic High School, in care of Office of Institutional Advancement, Central Catholic High School, 300 Hampshire St., Lawrence, MA 01841.
