Alfred C. Parah, 84, a resident of Sandown, NH died Friday, August 30, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Peggy (Lynn) Parah.

Al was the son of the late Alfred and Margaret (Buttrick) Parah. He was raised and educated in Lawrence, MA and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1958. Al was an HVAC technician most of his life, lastly employed by St. Joseph's Hospital in Lowell, MA as director of the maintenance department. He was also a hypnotist with a practice in Plaistow, NH and helped many people quit smoking, lose weight, and get counseling. In the 1970's He was one of the owners and operators of the Spindrift Hotel in North Hampton, NH. His humor was a defining trait. He always enjoyed a good joke and knew how to bring a smile to those around him. Among his greatest pleasures were spending time with his family, and helping others along his way. He also greatly enjoyed his many trips to Jackson, NH, trail walking with his dogs and family, dining out with friends and family, working with his John Deere tractor on his gentleman's farm, and of course enjoying his beloved Beach Boys music. Alfred's legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication to his family and work will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children Mary Parah of Goffstown NH, Kevin Parah of Goffstown, NH, Sean Parah of Manchester, NH, Colleen DesRuisseaux and her husband Steve of Manchester, his sister Mary Herlihy of Newburyport, Ma, his stepdaughter Carrie Backus and her husband Tim of Raymond, NH, his grandchildren Tristan and Jack DesRuisseaux, step grandchildren Ashley, Breann, Alex, Timmy and Ava. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Sandlot Event Center, 33 Sandlot Way, Sandown, NH on October 20, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm. Any and all who knew him are welcome to attend. Memorial contributions may be made in Al's name to the Lewy Body Dementia Association @ http://www.lbda.org.
