Obituary

Bedford, NH: Albert R "Midge" Midgley, 88, died peacefully at Bedford Hills Center, on November 16, 2020, surrounded by friends and family.

Midge was raised in North Andover, MA, son of the late Herbert and Marguerite (Arnold) Midgley and educated at the North Andover Public Schools, graduating from Johnson High School. Midge worked at Western Electric / AT&T throughout his career as an equipment analyst, retiring with forty-five years of service.

Midge had a passion for ten pin bowling, horseshoes and 45's. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed playing softball on the Western Electric and North Andover Town Leagues.

He was a dedicated husband first and foremost, treasured his children and embraced every moment with them, and he especially loved his role as "Grampy". He was a former longtime resident of Hampstead before before to Bedford four years.

He had a vibrant and sunny personality, and always made people around him laugh. He made friends everywhere he went. Midge always had a positive attitude; he was the bright light in a room. In his years at the Bedford Hills Center he brought an energetic and joyous attitude to the staff and residents. He made many friends and was the surrogate Grandfather to the Staff. His favorite saying was "How's the Little Shavers"

Midge was preceded in death by his wife Madelyn R. "Bobbie" (McCoy) Midgley, and his son Albert R Midgley Jr., both in 2018. He is survived by his daughters,  Denise and husband Mark LeBoeuf, of Chester, NH, and  Susan and husband Edward Kawa, of Danville, his brother Dale Midgley and wife Claudette Midgley, of Kennebunk, ME, six grandchildren; Matthew LeBoeuf and partner Robert Smith, Julie (LeBoeuf) Conrow and husband Jeff Conrow, Richard Midgley and wife Katie, Stephanie Midgley and fiancé Justin Davolio. Amanda Kawa and partner Drew Patterson, Edward Kawa III and wife Alyse, five great-grandchildren Kayla Conrow, Gabe Conrow, Jace Conrow, Dylan Theriault, Maddyson Midgley, and was looking forward to the birth of his sixth great-grandchild, MacKynzie Midgley. Midge also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, November 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St, Plaistow, NH, following the State of New Hampshire guideline for social distancing and the wearing of masks. His funeral service will follow at 6:15 p.m. in the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2021
