Ms. Ae Sook Park, a native of Seoul, Korea, passed away November 27th at Mary Immaculate in Lawrence, MA with several family members at her bedside. She had suddenly developed pneumonia, and passed away peacefully a few short hours later. She was age 98 and leaves behind 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 7 children, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She originally immigrated to the United States in the latter part of the 1900's to be near her children and grandchildren, and worked in Haverhill in the textile industry. Later she returned to Korea for several years, and in 2003 she and her husband, Park Hyun Duk, became permanent residents of the Merrimack Valley. Mr. Park passed away in 2009.
Her survivors include 5 siblings in California, Canada, and Korea; sons Chun Kun Park of Derry, NH., Bong Kun Park of Plaistow, NH., daughters Kyong Soon Liliedahl of Derry, NH., Ok Ja Lee of Haverhill, MA., Bong Ye Evans of Salem, NH., Bong Soon Park of South Korea, and Kyong Ae Peters of Plaistow, NH., and their 34 children and grandchildren, most of whom live in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, Nov 30th 2017 from 6-8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will take place on Friday, Dec 1st, 2017, at 11 AM in the funeral home, with a burial to follow at Atkinson Cemetery.
