Obituary


Epping, NH: Adele I. (St. Cyr) (Maddocks) Tragiou, 78, a resident of Epping for the past fifteen years, died on April 24, 2015 at Exeter Hospital.

Born, raised, and educated in Haverhill, MA, daughter of the late Joseph and Alina (Fournier) St. Cyr, she attended St. Joseph Grammar School and Haverhill High School.

As a young woman, Mrs. Tragiou worked in the local shoe factories. She was later employed as a machine operator at Western Electric Company, AT&T Technologies, and Lucent Technology.

Mrs. Tragiou was a member of All Saints Parish and the former St. Joseph Parish and most recently attended Bethany Church of Fremont and Raymond. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, and taking walks and trips to the ocean.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Maddocks, and her second husband, Harold Tragiou, and is survived by two sons, Walter W. Maddocks and his longtime companion, Barbara Kaffel of Northwood, NH, and Joseph R. Maddocks of Manchester, NH, a daughter, Beatrice A. Morehouse and her husband Robert of Derry, NH, a step-son, George Tragiou of Haverhill, two brothers, Richard St. Cyr of Washington, and Arthur St. Cyr of Haverhill, a sister, Theresa Campbell of Merrimac, MA, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Tragiou's Life Celebration on Tuesday, April 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
